Our Purpose

To create opportunities for youth that inspire dreams, develop passion and shape the future leaders of our community.

What we do

YEF awards funding to educators, counselors, support staff, and organizations who are focused on providing leadership, mentorship and educational resources to the youth in our community. From K-12 to post-secondary, we want to ensure that support is there for those who want to grow and learn. While we don’t exclusively fund only projects and programs through MCPS, we do support their efforts with funding twice a year to school-related organizations, clubs, projects, or programs which might not meet criteria for MCPS funding yet still hold merit by capturing the imaginations of students and deepening their love of learning. Educators are innovators. They have great ideas and sometimes a lack of funding stands in the way of their implementing an innovative program that would help students further engage in the learning process. That is where we come in.
