YEF Funding Request for a Great Idea

What the Youth Educational Foundation Reviews in Applications

YEF’s mission is to establish self-confidence within the youth in our community by providing mentorship, vital resources and educational opportunities to enable them to improve their lives and reach their desired level of accomplishment. Our purpose is to create opportunities for youth that inspire dreams, develop passion and shape the future leaders of our community. In reviewing applications, we are looking for programs/projects/clubs that go beyond the normal classroom activities. We want to see opportunities that provide students the chance to stretch and grow academically and personally. YEF does not fund athletic teams, bands/musical groups or theater/drama groups with equipment, supplies, events or travel and transportation and we do not fund programs that are mandated by either the MCPS or State/Federal level or that occur in some form in all Maury County Schools (examples would be items for “reward” programs, extra textbooks, calculators, attendance programs, etc.)

How many funding requests will be awarded?

The Youth Educational Foundation’s pool of funding is determined each year based on fundraising efforts. Once the YEF determines the total amount of funds available for award, a scoring system is used on applications and funds are allocated based accordingly.
